Special Request from the Mt. Juliet Help Center

We have a family in Mt Juliet that needs to move out of their house for about a month.  There is health issues involving lead base paint.  They have someone that will do the work and there is stimulus money to do it, but they have no place to go to.  Do any of you REALTORS® have a vacant house or rental that they could use?

Please email Carolyn Duggan mjhc@tds.net and she can put you in touch with the family. Carolyn will be at the center Monday through Friday from 9 to 1, if you would like to call her 754-4357.
Thanks, Mary Bacon

~Sign Ordinance~

Whether you are listing property in Mt. Juliet, Lebanon, Hendersonville, etc - there are sign ordinances that we all MUST follow. Even though many of us think that some of these ordinances are unfair to our sellers, our buyers and REALTORS® - once signed into law, all we can do is follow the law. This may be discouraging to many of you, especially with some of the newer city sign ordinances that have recently been put into effect. As REALTORS®, working in areas that have a sign ordinance, there is little that we can do. However - our clients have the power!!! Get your clients involved, if they feel like these ordinances hurt them, get them in touch with the elected & appointed city officials.

DO NOT become the "rainy day fund" for the city!!! Follow the ordinance - keep your sign & your money!!! REALTORS® are easy targets when the sign police are out & about - do not let them get the best of you. Speak to your listing clients prior to putting your sign out, make them aware of the ordinance ad really make them aware of the penalty.

Read the sample letter you can use when listing property in the City of Mt. Juliet. If you would like to receive an "edit friendly" version of this letter - email me and I will send one your way.

To see some of the local sign ordinance - select a desired city below. If you are familiar with another city that has an ordinance in place, but it is not listed below, please let us know so we can add it to our list.

Your Help Is Needed!!!

Some of your fellow REALTORS® are asking for your help. They are not asking for money or donations - they are only asking for a little bit of your time. They need you to read the attached announcement and help them with a letter writing campaign to help a local resident of Mt. Juliet and his family.

Do you have a few minutes where you can help????

The EMTAR Member Community Forum/Blog
A community discussion area for our members

EMTAR is pleased to announce its very own Forum/Blog - this is an area where our members can participate in open discussions with each other. We have set this up with four different forums, at this time. Each forum has been created to keep the posts and conversation threads in appropriate categories.
Our four areas are:

  • EMTAR Family News - this area is used to post your special events, birth, death and other related news affecting our REALTOR® family.

  • EMTAR Announcements - this area is used to post EMTAR announcements from our President, Directors, Committee Persons, EO, and staff. Use this area to make comments about the happenings in our Association, for example the "Dues Vote" taking place at the next membership luncheon. Voice your opinion - ask questions - see what others think

  • Members helping Members - This area can be used for many different things. From new REALTORS® needing help getting started in the business, questions that you think other REALTORS® can assist you with, to needing advice on real estate tools or those crazy real estate situations that so many of us have been through.

  • General Discussion - This is an open comment area that you can use for pretty much anything. If you have a client that has a special need that you would like to let other REALTORS® know about - post it here. If you have a community event or idea that you need help with - post it here. Just please keep it clean and have it relate to our community or our real estate industry.

You can find the Forum/Blog link in the left menu column towards the top, you can go to the main Forum/Blog page or bypass that to access the Forum you want to participate in.
