For the year 2020, we are honored to award multiple $2000, $1000 and $500 scholarships in the names of Martin Cummings and Karen Lowe.

Martin Cummings was a resident of Wilson County and a leader in the Eastern Middle Tennessee Association of Realtors® (EMTAR) for many years. Martin was a very giving man. He never met a stranger, knew everyone, and gave of his time and knowledge.

Karen Lowe retired in 2018 after serving 31 years as the Executive Officer of EMTAR. Her leadership has been outstanding during a time of enormous growth and change in the real estate business in Wilson and surrounding counties. Karen’s enthusiasm is contagious and her encouragement is invaluable to everyone she meets.

PURPOSE: This scholarship will help enable the recipient to continue their education in order to pursue their career ambition.

ELIGIBILITY: The student must be a Senior in high school, graduating in 2020 and a resident of either Wilson or Trousdale County. The school may be public, private, or a registered home school. The student must be planning to attend a collage, university, or trade school in the Fall of 2020.

ALL Application Submissions must be made online via this form.

YOU MUST HAVE THE FOLLOWING AT SUBMISSION:

    1. Copy of Original High School Transcript (digital copy)
    2. Two (2) Letters of Recommendation (digital copy) from teachers, school administrators, coaches, pastors, or employers containing the following:
      – typewritten 150 words or less and signed by writer
      – how long writer has known applicant and in what capacity
      – describing student’s overall character.
      – why the student is deserving.
      – the writer’s email address and phone number
    3. Essay (500 words or more) on who you are and what are your dreams and aspirations, any life obstacles you’ve overcome and what plans you may have to help your community.

APPLICATION DEADLINE: April 24th, 2020 NOW EXTENDED to May 31st, 2020
