Due to the recent events surrounding COVID-19 (Coronavirus), the EMTAR Board of Directors has decided to cancel the Awards of Excellence Celebration. EMTAR is acting in the best interests of its membership and therefore precautions are being taken to help keep our membership healthy and safe. The decision to cancel this event was not taken lightly.
Many questions have arisen and we’d like to address those below:
As you know, regardless of whether you attend the banquet the Awards Application fee is $100.
All award applicants will still be receiving their awards and the Ad announcing the winners is scheduled to be released this Wednesday, March 18th.
However, the EMTAR Board of Directors have decided to partially refund all those that have applied for awards and fully refund for guest dinner reservations. Our community has been hit with not only the virus but a tragedy with the recent tornado. So in good spirit (regardless of your attendance plans), all will receive a refund of the following value:
With the fluidity of information regarding the COVID-19, we do not want to be premature in reserving another date and then having to possibly cancel again. Therefore the Board of Directors has decided to cancel completely.
In the next coming weeks, we will announce who the recipients are via our many different communication channels. President Sherry Mullins, President-elect, Carol Thayer, EMTAR staff and others will travel to the recipients’ Office and present each with their Award. In addition, a photo-op will be scheduled at that time and press releases will be made available for both award recipients.
